Bedrock is known for their Zins and this 2014 Old Vines Zin is highly rated by Robert Parker, a reviewer I trust greatly. It is the first Bedrock I've tried - and it is surely their entry level - but I was underwhelmed. It seemed bland and fairly lifeless to me. Generic nose of alcohol, wood, and kirsch, similar in flavor to a middling Cotes du Rhone. Seems to lack the freshness and weight and dark berry fruit I love in Zinfandel. You can do a lot better in red wine for $25. But whom are you going to trust - Robert Parker or me? - HK 2016-09-02
