1998 Black Opal Cabernet Sauvignon South Eastern Australia WB Rating: 83 Alcohol by volume: 13.0% Price at time of purchase: $ (Trader Joe's, Costco.) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): 100% Cab A pleasant, peppery, inky-dark cab, with an initial 'berry' impression. Not a spectacular wine, but it compares favorably to a great many mid-range Bordeauxs and California cabs. At this price, it makes an excellent choice for your 'everyday' vino. Its a good thing we have the Aussies to bring us affordable wines. - WB Team 2000-05-04 [Back] |
