Made mainly from Lodi fruit, this wine strikes us as rather ponderous and borderline unpleasant. Prunes, licorice, raisins dominate the somewhat fishy nose. In the mouth, the wine is brawny and full, but basically sweet-feeling and straightforward with a late-harvest weight. People who like late-harvest Zins will take to this one a lot better than we did. - WB team 2003-04-22
