As with the Russian River offering, two different "Two Vineyards" bottlings from Dry Creek were made in 2010, with different oak aging times. This version, with six additional months of oak aging, has an earthy, smokey core underlying its dark berry fruit. Attractive briary feel. Slightly rustic in texture, a little less pure and focused compared to the lesser-oaked version. But it is still a satisfying and tasty Zin that has a nice acid balance to keep it fresh and lively. The high alcohol is not intrusive. Exceptionally good price for this wine, purchased in futures some years ago. - HK 2015-02-27
