Complex but reticent, somewhat gamey aromatics of earthy black cherry, plum, charcoal. For whatever reason, this wine has never seemed as velvety and deep to me as the other D-G 2007's. As in 2005, it seems more floral than the other Dutton-Goldfield single-vineyard Pinots. It is still youthful (July 2010 tasting) with some tannin to resolve, but it's already showing elegance and length. - HK 2010-07-17
