2010 Dutton-Goldfield Pinot Noir McDougall Vineyard Sonoma Coast, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 13.5% Price at time of purchase: $58.00 (from winery) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir From a true Sonoma Coast vineyard overlooking the Gualala River and the Pacific, near Hirsch Vineyards. Definite cool-climate feel, lean and taut in the mouth. Seems to have deepened and softened in the year or so since I first tasted it. Dark cherry, cranberry, raspberry fruit with a slight touch of pine resin and spice. Not voluptuous by D-G standards, but a really well-made, satisfying Pinot that other tasters I know think I always under-rate. - HK 2015-06-21 [Back] |
