Superlative Pinot Noir from the Anderson Valley in Mendocino. Great depth, complexity, and sense of terroir. Beautifully balanced mix of super-ripe cherries, plums, strawberries, charcoal, dried rose blossoms. Excellent richness in the mouth, 60 second finish. Opened in honor of a viewing of the movie "Sideways," and I'd guess it blows away anything they tasted in that movie (though I'd like to give the '61 Cheval Blanc a shot). Another everyday wine for me when I become a billioinaire. - HK 2005-04-06
