| 2007 Kirkland Signature Chardonnay Napa Valley|
Napa Valley, California
WB Rating: 82
Alcohol by volume: 13.5%
Price at time of purchase: $8.99 (Costco)
Principal varietal(s): Chardonnay
This wine, made for Costco by Adler Fels, has attractive apricot and sweet pear fruit along with some floral notes and a cloves-like spicy finish. Somewhat chunky in texture, it also seems to possess a lot of residual sugar, which is especially apparent as the wine warms up and the sweet mouth impression becomes distracting. Not bad for the price, though it doesn't nearly measure up to (for example) the Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay that costs about a dollar more. - HK 2008-12-09
