I'm used to being astonished by the quality/price ratio of LaFage wines, but this is unquestionably the best buy yet. A truly top-flight Chardonnay for under $11! This wine yields nothing in terms of flavor, purity, freshness, and pure pleasure to virtually any Chardonnay within a factor of 3 - 4 of its price. It reminded me - except for the cost - of a very good "true" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay in its focus, length, bright acidity, and solid fruit flavors. Complex mix of stone fruits, lemon butter, zesty herbs, fresh flowers. Refreshingly brisk in the mouth yet full of flavor, finishes with a nice dose of salinity and fresh acidity. I have no idea where the grapes for this wine come from (Roussillon?) - it's simply labeled as Vin de France - but LaFage seems to have terrific grape sources and obviously knows what to do with them. - HK 2017-11-29
