WB Rating: 90
Alcohol by volume: 14.6%
Price at time of purchase: $28.00 (Winery)
Principal varietal(s): Chardonnay
A winner year after year, the 2007 Overlook Chardonnay is one of the best yet. Rich, round, ripe, long, with loads of tropical fruit, citrus, apple, and nutmeg spice. Seems even richer than the 2006, though it still has a great level of balancing acidity. 81% from Sonoma fruit, the rest from Santa Barbara and Monterey. The wine is fairly widely distributed, so one can almost certainly find it at a lower price than the $28 charged at the winery (and even at that price, it's not a bad deal.) - HK 2009-07-13
