Flabbergastingly good wine from an appallingly bad vintage, and 35 years old to boot! Good ruby color with some slight lightening at the edges. Relatively fresh berry fruit flavors complement a cedary/resinous base. Quite aromatic and pleasant, though straight-ahead and a bit overly-soft. This must have been by far the best 1972 Bordeaux produced. It was tasted with some sensational 1982's, and was not disgraced in any way. - HK&GK 2008-01-05
