This bottle has a Roogle on the label -- an interesting mix of Kangaroo and Eagle representing the collaboration between the Marquis family of Australia and the U.S. importer Dan Philips. This is another in a string of dandy Aussie reds we've tried lately that have all been delicious as well as fairly priced. This wine has good richness and displays kirsch, licorice, tobacco and roast beef in the aromas and flavors. A touch harsh in the finish at this point compared to some of the silky Aussie Shiraz's, though that's a quibble for a wine this tasty. - HK 2004-11-07
