Original tasting: 4/27/2001.... Totally pleasurable at age 31. Healthy brick-red color, though perhaps slightly lighter-bodied than in its youth. Excellent, forward, multi-dimensional nose of sweet cedar, dried herbs, and a distant hint of red currants. Has an intriguing dried herb component in the flavor, also, dominated by bay leaf and mint. Probably very slightly past its peak, though still fresh, complex, and probably years from being over the hill. Rating: 90. Retasted 1/5/2008.... Healthy color. Smelled and tasted astonishingly like vintage port, with lots of spice and underlying prune-like fruit. Somewhat angular and acidic feel, some dryness in the finish. Not on the usual (younger) Bordeaux calibration curve, but amazing wine for its age. Rating: 91. - HK, GK 2008-01-05
