Reviewed by HK in Aug. 2001 with a score of 88 and the following comments: "Terrific bargain in full-throttle red wine. Has the mouth-coating, chewy feel of a top Carignane, yet it has no Carignane in the blend at all. Still fairly tannic, but the big blackberry, dark cherry, leathery flavors come through cleanly because the tannins are so round. A bit on the rustic side at this point, but will probably mellow out in a few years' time if one can avoid drinking it all in its fruit-filled youth." Tasted blind as a group against mainly Zins in July 2002, it was generally judged lower because it came across as more austere and tannic, with an average score of 84. - WB team 2002-07-19
