Rich, layered Russian River Zin The nose already shows some complexity, with forward vanilla, berry, and plum components. Seems to be a bit more refined and elegant, if less powerful, than the equally delicious '99. (It would have been nice to compare the two vintages, but we've managed to burn through all our 99's.) The wine has mouth-coating ripe dark fruit and sweet oak flavors, with none of the over-ripeness we find unappealing in a lot of high-alcohol Zins. Note: the price is estimated based on previous vintages. - WB Team 2002-12-06
