1999 Pedroncelli Zinfandel Mother Clone Dry Creek, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 84 Alcohol by volume: 14.4% Price at time of purchase: $11.99 (Beverages and More) Type: Zinfandel Principal varietal(s): Zinfandel The name derives from the fact that the vineyard was started from cuttings from Pedroncelli's original 1927-era vineyard. This wine begins promising, with a fruity, spicy attack, but on the whole it is not particularly long or extracted. Should be enjoyable now with strong flavored foods, or try cellaring for a year or so, to see if some more subtle flavors emerge. - MJA 2002-11-25 [Back] |
