This wine has slipped well past its prime. Always a reliable, fairly priced Bordeaux, made under the direction of the same person making Leoville Las Cases, this one has run out of gas. The tannin now dominates the fruit, leading to a dusty overall structure. Some spice and vanilla in the nose along with tea and moist redwood, but only a vestige of distant red fruit. Not unpleasant, but definitely not a lot going on any more. - WB team 2002-06-26
