Definitely a notch or two up from the also delicious '99 Pickett Road. This wine struck as much more compelling, and well-priced for the quality level. Lots going on in the nose, which is dominated by spicy ripe crushed blackberries and black raspberries along with a heavy dose of black pepper. Mouth-filling and rewarding flavors, rich finish. The label indicates aging potential beyond ten years, but we'd recommend chewing into this beauty during its flamboyand youth. - WB Team 2003-03-04
