| 2001 Rosenblum Syrah Fess Parker's Vineyard Santa Barbara, California WB Rating: 88 Alcohol by volume: 14.4% Price at time of purchase: $24.00 (from winery) Type: Syrah Principal varietal(s): Syrah This was a rich, tasty, chewy, full-bodied Syrah, but it also had a French-like feel to its tannin and structure. Blackberries, black licorice, and sweet oak are nicely displayed. In the mouth we sensed a higher acid feel and considerably more assertive tannin than we find in most of the other Rosenblum Syrah's we have tasted. This one is dandy now but struck us as an ager. - WB Team 2003-09-04 [Back] |
