2002 Seghesio Zinfandel Cortina Vineyard Dry Creek, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 15.7% Price at time of purchase: $25.00 (K&L) Type: Zinfandel Principal varietal(s): Zinfandel This wine will be the entry under "wimpy" in the Winebork book of antonyms. Still a bit unruly, this wine has a huge nose of super ripe plums, dark berries, and raisins. But it has no feel of sweetness or over-ripeness in the mouth, just a wall of flavor. Still a touch hot, but big and satisfying from attack to lengthy finish. If it can develop a bit more manners, our rating will have been miserly. - WB Exec Team 2004-07-10 [Back] |
