Still firmly structured and tannic at age 5, but much more approachable than it was when released. That said, I'd still be inclined to give it another year or two to round out. Rich and beautifully balanced, with an attractive and interesting nose of blackberry, raspberry, violets, pepper, and roasted meat. Full and structured in the mouth with a residual bite of still dusty tannins. A must to serve it with food - not a sipping wine at this point. May be under-rated if it continues to broaden as it softens. It was a bargain when released at $24: the 2007 came out at twice this price. - HK 2011-05-13
