Outstanding, rich, intense, youthful Cabernet. Deep, dark cherry, licorice, and mocha notes along with the usual nuclear Silver Oak cassis and sweet oak. Terrific depth and breadth. Still very tannic and a year or more from truly blossoming. Should age wonderfully, though it is already delicious. Big down side: Silver Oak Napa has now broken the $100 barrier and may never look back. This makes it accessible only to the very rich, which unfortunately excludes your humble servants. - WB exec team 2002-07-05
