As much as we love the St. Francis reds for their oaky richness, we found this Chardonnay to be downright unpleasant. This wine has been tried on several occasions, with the same impression: no fruit, odd woody mouth feel, weird flavors and finish as if the wine had been made by soaking oak chips in vodka, then adding water to bring the alcohol down. We'll stick with the St. Francis reds. - HK 2001-03-03
