2012 Stonestreet Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Alexander Valley, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 14.5% Price at time of purchase: $33.39 (Bottle Barn, Santa Rosa CA) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): Cabernet Made from a blend of high-altitude vineyards on Alexander Mountain. Deep, healthy purple color. Without air, still fairly closed but obviously well-endowed. With airing, it opens into a still-youthful, but beautifully flavored wine with classic cassis aromas and a complex underpinning of briary dark fruit and violets. A remarkably good "entry level" Cabernet from Stonestreet. This should drink beautifully for at least another 10 years. - HK 2016-10-17 [Back] |
