Perhaps unfair to review since the reviewer in this case (HK) only had a sip or two. But this was an intriguing wine, quite different from The Wiz's '94 and '97 Carignanes. This one had a remarkably Bordeaux-like nose to it, similar to a St. Julien -- dark fruit, smoke, tobacco -- with more of a currant than cherry feel to it. Has obviously aged well, remaining a clean and tasty wine even at age 11. - WB Team 2001-07-19
