Year after year, an astonishingly good value in smooth, quaffable reds. Not a 16% blockbuster, but full of soft, tasty blueberry and dark cherry fruit with a touch of flowers and sweet oak in the background. No hint of medicinal or other off-putting flavors found in most inexpensive wines. Really remarkably good for the price, certainly one of the very best sub-$8 reds in the market, and available just about everywhere. (Purchased on sale at Safeway. Regular price is around $7.99 - but this is no higher than it was 6 years ago!) - HK 2008-07-30
