2005 Chardonnay Russian River

Appellation: Russian River, Sonoma, California

Attractive deep gold color, crisp texture. Reticent aromas and flavors of Meyer lemon, spiced apple, and roasted nuts. Well balanced, good with food, but simple and somewhat lacking in intensity and depth. Clearly a step below their excellent single-vineyard Chardonnays. At $28, not expensive by inflated Russian River standards, but you can definitely do better in this price range elsewhere.
