| 1999 Alexander Valley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 85 Alcohol by volume: 13.8% Price at time of purchase: $15.00 (from Winery) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): Cabernet Sauvignon Soft, tasty, user-friendly wine that didn't really stand out as different when tasted blind with some Zins. Bright cherry fruit, vanilla, sweet oak are prominent in the nose and flavors. Not especially long or complex at this young age, or would be rated a bit higher. Fairly priced. Alexander Valley cabs are often drinkable young but hang in there nicely, so this one might improve with another year or two of age. - WB team 2002-07-19 [Back] |
