| 2016 Carmela Durigutti Malbec Reserva Mendoza, Argentina WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 13.9% Price at time of purchase: $30.00 (Liquor City, Syracuse NY) Type: Malbec Principal varietal(s): Malbec From nearly century-old, single-vineyard grapes from Las Compuertas, grown at about 3500 feet elevation. This is serious Malbec, displaying fruit-forward aromas of black raspberries, warm mixed berry compote, dried sweet herbs and flowers. Rich and velvety smooth in the mouth, with the balance to suggest it could live on several more years. Hard to believe it will improve from where it is now, so I'd say drink up. - HK 2022-12-23 [Back] |
