| 2013 Clos du Bois Zinfandel Sonoma Reserve Old Vine Alexander Valley, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 86 Alcohol by volume: 15.5% Price at time of purchase: $35.00 (winery) Type: Zinfandel Principal varietal(s): Zinfandel Nicely balanced Zinfandel from 75+ year old vineyards in Alexander Valley. Despite the alcohol level, no real feeling of heat, and not a heavyweight in the density department either. Attractive, slightly herbal berry and plum fruit with a touch of mint/cedar in the background. Not overly assertive, and therefore probably a better food wine than some of the more powerful Sonoma Zins.
