| 2007 Chateau Coutet Barsac, France WB Rating: 91 Alcohol by volume: 14.0% Price at time of purchase: $29.99 (Premier Cru) Type: Sauternes Principal varietal(s): Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon Deep, complex, and rich without being cloyingly heavy. Layered flavors of honeyed pear, saffron, crème brulée, orange marmalade, citrus blossoms, liquified nuts. Not overpowering in terms of the botrytis, but it's clearly there in the honeyed flavors. Ripe and long in the mouth and drinking extremely well in its 8th year. Purchased during a great sale at Premier Cru in Berkeley. - HTK 2015-02-13 [Back] |
