Still young and closed in the nose, but terrific richness in the mouth promises great things. A soft yet penetrating Grenache-like feel highlights the raspberry/vanilla flavors, with nice staying power in the mid-range and finish. I'm looking forward to following this wine's development. This is something of a broken record, but the wine was purchased during a great Rhone sale at Premier Cru, an excellent wine store in Emeryville. - HK 2002-06-12
