| 2010 Joseph Phelps / Freestone Vineyards Chardonnay "Fogdog" Sonoma Coast, California WB Rating: 87 Alcohol by volume: 13.5% Price at time of purchase: $35.00 (Winery) Type: Chardonnay Principal varietal(s): As always, this wine is really easy to like. Ripe, almost sweet-feeling apricot and lemon-curd fruit with a heavy dose of butterscotch and caramel and an edge of leesiness. SImilar in many ways to the now-discontinued "Ovation" Chardonnay, though with somewhat less intensity. Good acid balance to keep it fresh, but less energetic than earlier vintages.
