| 2007 Frei Brothers Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 88 Alcohol by volume: 13.9% Price at time of purchase: $18.00 () Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): Cabernet Sauvignon Opaque deep purple - almost black. Nicely proportioned, good ripeness and grip in the mouth. A bit one-dimensional when first opened, but with air develops full Bordeaux-like flavors of cassis, black licorice, bittersweet chocolate, blackberries. An outstanding Cabernet for this price point. May be worth another point or two in a couple of years if it develops more perfume and complexity, but it's completely pleasant even now. - HK 2010-11-29 [Back] |
