| 1989 Chateau Grand Puy Ducasse Pauillac, Bordeaux, France WB Rating: 88 Alcohol by volume: 12.5% Price at time of purchase: $13.00 (Library wine) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): Bordeaux blend Brilliant deep purple color. Still slightly austere with some tannin in the finish, but it's a classic, elegant, medium-bodied Pauillac that has aged nicely and is approaching its peak. Attractive smoky, tobacco-tinged nose with cassis and dark berry flavors. Purchased as a future in the early 90's, this wine was a great bargain. Grand Puy Ducasse is still one of the best affordable Bordeaux's. - HK 2000-12-25 [Back] |
