| 2002 Michel Magnien Morey Saint-Denis Morey-St. Denis, Burgundy, France WB Rating: 86 Alcohol by volume: 12.0% Price at time of purchase: $11.99 (Premier Cru) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir This is, not surprisingly, a definite step up from the two "generic," inexpensive '02 M. Magnien Burgundies I've tried recently. This Morey Saint-Denis is a suave though fairly delicate Pinot Noir with pure cherry/plum Burgundy fruit and attractive floral notes. It does not suffer from the high-acid impression of its less expensive siblings. Not especially long, but definitely a satisfying Burgundy and an extremely good price during one of the great sales they have frequently at Premier Cru. - HK 2006-03-15 [Back] |
