This youthful wine had plenty of oomph but came across at this early age as a bit harsh, hot, and unresolved. But still, it has the usual deep dark berry fruit flavors and a nice dose of black pepper. I'd be inclined to give this one another year before popping it, unless it's being served with pizza or a slab of barbecued meat. - HK 2009-04-26
