Nose started off with just a whiff of acrid woodiness, but this dissipated almost immediately with airing to reveal a superb, complex, perfumed aroma of classic Pinot fruit, spice, and flowers. Authoritative and sumptuous in the mouth, seamless texture with very fine tannins. Beautifully balanced and lively - no loss of energy at nearly age 7. Usually my favorite Martinelli Pinot Noir, and 2011 - a difficult year - is no exception. - HK 2018-01-10
