| 2006 Louis M. Martini Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Napa Valley, California WB Rating: 88 Alcohol by volume: 14.2% Price at time of purchase: $27.00 (Winery) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): Cabernet Sauvignon For what is probably a large-volume production, the 2006 Napa Cabernet is remarkably high quality. Ripe, chewy Cabernet fruit - currants, cherry - are accompanied by nicely balanced cedar, chocolate, and spice components. A straight-ahead, satisfying feel from start to finish. Absolutely drinkable now, well balanced enough to be good for another 5 years or more. While the price is listed at $27 at the winery, it can undoubtedly be found for under $20 at some stores, and that's a bargain. - HK 2009-11-30 [Back] |
