| 2010 Joseph Phelps Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, California WB Rating: 92 Alcohol by volume: 14.5% Price at time of purchase: $65.00 (Winery) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): 92% Cabernet, 6% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot Maybe not quite at the Insignia level, but this is a superb Cabernet. Rich, virile young flavors, yet wonderfully balanced and surprisingly evolved and drinkable at age 6. Classic Napa Cabernet flavors of creme de cassis, chocolate, roasted coffee, and a complex melange of sweet spices. Round and full in the mouth, but this is still a firm and developing wine. I wish I had a case of this wine to follow over the next decade or so. - HK 2016-06-29 [Back] |
