| 2016 Chateau Plince Pomerol, Bordeaux, France WB Rating: 86 Alcohol by volume: 14.0% Price at time of purchase: $39.00 (JJBuckley) Type: Cabernet / Bordeaux Principal varietal(s): Bordeaux blend Disappointing considering the appellation and year and chateau. Promising opaque purple to the rim. Nose displays a mix of dark berries, bitter chocolate, tobacco, and underbrush. A tinge of awkward bitter character carries on into the mouth, which is still quite youthful and unevolved. Full feel in the mouth, not especially tannic, but not a lot of flavor intensity at this point. Maybe it will open up a bit in a few years. - HK 2025-07-29 [Back] |
