Intense, layered, multidimensional zin, but suffers from a vegetal, somewhat bitter edge at this stage. Moderate tannins and good length promise that it will improve over the next year or two. Probably not our favorite Rancho Zabaco, but a very interesting wine nevertheless, and worth the price. - MJA 2002-10-07
