Powerful, intriguing Santa Cruz Mountains Zin. (I much preferred this to the 1990 Jimsomare Zin, which took its eccentricities too far and was also less full and sweet.) Big, spicy nose with components of red fruits, coffee, molasses, and sweet herbs. Rich, sweet cranberry flavors. Satisfying finish. Unusual Zin, but still completely fresh and drinking well. - HK 2002-11-19
