| 1995 Ridge Vineyards Lytton Springs Dry Creek, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 88 Alcohol by volume: 14.0% Price at time of purchase: $20.00 (Library Wine) Type: Zinfandel Principal varietal(s): 84% Zin, 14% Petite Sirah, 2% Carignan One of our favorite Zins year-in and year-out, and an excellent Zin. But a bit off the mark compared to most of the other excellent Lytton Springs of the 90's. Full-bodied, tasty, jammy fruit, but almost over-ripe in nature: prunes rather than plums. An intersting earthy, spicy, sage-like edge adds to the complexity, but to us it didn't quite make the cut. - WB Team 2000-09-15 [Back] |
