Tasted a few years ago, we called this one "huge and untamed." Well, it's mellowed a bit with age, but it's still fresh as the day it was bottled and hasn't lost much of its spunk. Opaque color, big, still somewhat tannic, mouth-coating flavors of black currents, with complex notes of black raspberries, plum, chocolate, peach, rhubarb pie, licorice. By far our favorite Zin yet produced from York Creek, where we usually prefer the Petite Sirah. - HK 2004-11-02
