| 2002 Rosenblum Petite Sirah Rockpile Road Vineyard Dry Creek, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 15.6% Price at time of purchase: $34.00 (from winery) Type: Petite Sirah Principal varietal(s): 100% Petite Sirah Similar to the 2001, except with even more alcoholic punch. Utterly opaque, black-purple wine with a density just shy of that at the center of a neutron star. A bit harsh in the mouth at first, but opened up to show deep dark berry and vanilla flavors and tooth-staining density. Lots of oak nicely integrated into this hugely (overly?) alcoholic Petite Sirah, which at this point we find marginally less compelling than the 2001. - WB Team 2004-07-23 [Back] |
