Though fairly austere, this is a most agreeable white Burgundy from an area of the Chalonnaise better known for reds. Very crisp feel, with subdued buttery peach and pear fruit, and a strong, attractive stony/mineral component. Good food wine, but don't serve this too cold or the fruit will disappear in the acid. (Purchased in an excellent mixed-case holiday special at North Berkeley. Normal retail price would be somewhat higher.) - HK 2008-01-23
