While not a vineyard-designated wine, this is a great Seghesio Zin from super-old Sonoma vines. Beguiling, forward nose featuring boysenberry jam, plum, sweet oak, spice. Despite the rich structure, this wine has no hint of being clumsy or cloying or sweet or or over-ripe. Just balanced, rich, seamless layers of fruit and spice. Another Seghesio Zin that defines what old-vine Sonoma Zinfandels are all about. I'd drink this wine young to take advantage of its superb fruit density. - HK 2007-09-26
