| 2006 Seghesio Pinot Noir "Costiera" Russian River, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 90 Alcohol by volume: 14.8% Price at time of purchase: $42.00 (winery) Type: Pinot Noir / Burgundy Principal varietal(s): Pinot Noir Grapes originate from two low-yielding, cool-climate vineyards near Sebastopol. Rich yet elegant in feel, already smooth and drinkable. Ripe cherry and fruit-skin flavors along with complex cola and floral components. Mouth-filling texture but not heavy-feeling or hot, despite the alcohol level. Long finish. Really impressive Pinot Noir from a winery best known for powerful Zinfandels. - HK 2008-06-07 [Back] |
