| 2008 Seghesio Arneis Russian River, Sonoma, California WB Rating: 89 Alcohol by volume: 13.2% Price at time of purchase: $20.00 (winery) Type: Italian-style White Principal varietal(s): This excellent expression of an unusual Italian white varietal resembles a fortuitous blend of really good Albarino with really good Sauvignon Blanc. Lots of white wines can be crisp and refreshing without having much soul, but this one has some outstanding, forward ripe fruit flavors underlying its texture, predominantly peaches and lime. Bone dry, yet rich and satisfyingly flavorful. Fairly priced, a terrific alternative to ho-hum Chardonnays or Sauvignon Blancs.. - HK 2009-05-20 [Back] |
